Going into joint practices between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Rams, there was some concern from both parties about potential fights after seeing so many break out at other joint practices around the NFL.
Buy Bengals TicketsThere wasn’t any of that in a tackle-free session between the teams on Wednesday in what was about as polite as it gets for these.
But there was one notable, quick hiccup — Aaron Donald put a hand on Joe Burrow.
Burrow, who was looking forward to treating these reps as “game reps” while he tries to regain weight after surgery, wasn’t allowed to take a sack. Instead, per Fox 19’s Jeremy Rauch, Burrow’s offensive line took a brief exception to Donald even putting a hand on Burrow to record the sack:
Aaron Donald barely laid a hand on Joe Burrow for a “sack.”
A small gathering of differences occurred. Nothing more.
But, just know that AD isn’t allowed to even touch Burrow. #Bengals

That offensive line featured rookie Cordell Volson repping with the ones. Otherwise, the new big three — La’el Collins, Ted Karras and Alex Cappa — were out there protecting Burrow alongside Jonah Williams.
If that’s as dramatic as things get over the two practice sessions and Week 3 preseason game between these teams, both should consider it a big win.
