Geordie Shore's Aaron Chalmers poses with newborn son who faces a tough year of surgery

Aaron Chalmers is a doting new dad following the arrival of his newborn son, Oakley.

The former Geordie Shore star, 35, and his girlfriend Talia Oatway, welcomed their bundle of joy earlier this month, but the proud parents were hit with a mix of emotions when they welcomed their little boy after they learned the tot was born with multiple health issues.

The TV star took to social media earlier this week to confirm that his newborn son Oakley will need to undergo surgeries for the next 18-24 months.

Following Aaron and Talia's 'bittersweet' announcement, the new mum took to Instagram on Friday to share some adorable snaps of Talia's eldest child, Siennah, 8, meeting her baby brother for the first.

In other snaps, proud dad Aaron cradled his newborn son as he lovingly gazed down at his new bundle of joy.

Talia, who already shares sons Romeo, two, and Maddox, one, with reality TV star Aaron, captioned the sweet snaps: "Oakley Bleu Chalmers, you're so loved darling.

"Tough road we have ahead but my boy we love you unconditionally. The last few days have been so emotional and exhausting I just want to say thank you to everyone who has sent us love," she added.

It comes after proud dad Aaron shared an eye-opening Instagram video, where he explained that his partner, Talia, required Maternal–fetal medicine throughout her pregnancy. Fetal medicine, also known as perinatology, is described as 'a branch of medicine that focuses on managing health concerns of the mother and fetus prior to, during, and shortly after pregnancy.'

Sharing an update on his newborn son's health, the former Geordie Shore star explained: "Hi everyone I just thought I'd jump on here quickly to give a quick update, me and Talia are overwhelmed with all the messages of congratulations and stuff, I'll explain in a proper story in a couple of days.

"'We've had another healthy boy, another healthy baby boy called Oakley - Oakley Chalmers - weighing six pounds one ounce, but unfortunately there's been a few issues with our new baby.

"We we're in fetal medicine for most of the pregnancy, then we got cleared, unfortunately it wasn't cleared, and it wasn't picked up on the scans, so the little bubba is probably going to be in and out of surgery for the next 18 months to 24 months, so just me and Talia are coming to terms with everything.'

"We're not ignoring people, we're just letting things soak in, just taking everything like what the specialists are saying and stuff, it's been a rollercoaster and two days. The baby's healthy, heart, lungs and all that stuff, but we're just got loads of meeting specialists and just letting people know the plan for the next few months."

Proud dad Aaron continued: "Thank you so much for all your messages, the love hearts the congratulations, but as I said it's been a whirlwind of emotions the last 48 hours, and I'll give a proper update when I know more."
