Emergency services are responding to a major incident on a busy Ayrshire road this evening.
The A71 has been closed in both directions after the roundabout between Galston and Newmilns near Tesco.
Both police and ambulance crews are currently at the scene.
One eyewitness at the scene believes there was a bad crash.
They said: “We were heading up the A71 towards Newmilns way but police have sealed off the road.
“It looks like quite a bad incident, and there appeared to be at least one vehicle across the road.
“I hope whoever was involved is safe and well.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.30pm on Monday, May 9, officers were called to a report of a two car road crash on the A71 at Galston. Emergency services attended to assist."
