"Four lanes of the A4 dual carriageway in the Granville area of Dungannon are closed due to a gorse fire in the area," the spokesperson said.

"The section of road affected is from the Eglish Road turnoff to the Granville junction. Motorists are advised to seek other routes for their journey.

A post from Police Mid Ulster said the road had to be closed as drivers were 'unable to see' due to smoke in the area.

"We are having to fully close the A4 from Dungannon to Ballygawley in both directions due to gorse fires along it.

"Fire Service require the full road for their equipment and drivers cannot see due to the smoke. It will be closed for some time as a result of this."
