A major road just off the M1 was closed for several hours following a 'serious crash' and car fire. The incident happened on the A38 and the southbound carriageway.
Investigation work was undertaken on the road following the incident which happened between the M1 at junction 28 and the B600 in Alfreton, Derbyshire. The emergency services are at the scene.
It is not yet understood if there have been any injuries. The road was closed in both directions after the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday, April 23.

Just the southbound direction remained closed as of midday however. It remained closed for several more hours.
Derbyshire Police had said: "The A38 will remain closed in both directions until at least the early evening - please make sure you leave extra time for your journey as there may be delays due to the diversions that are in place."
National Highways had added: "The A38 is closed south between the M1 J28 and the B600 near Alfreton due to serious collision and car fire. Emergency services including Derbyshire Police are on scene along with Traffic Officers.
"The road is expected to remain closed for several hours."
At 3.30pm Derbyshire Police tweeted that the road was open again in both directions.
