Three people were taken to hospital after a serious crash in County Down on Monday night. The incident shut the A2 Warrenpoint Road, just outside of Newry, for several hours.
In an appeal issued in the early hours of Tuesday morning, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said that a red BMW, a blue Volkswagen Passat and a white van were all involved in the collision. No further details about the condition of the three injured people has been released at this stage.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police in Newry are appealing for witnesses and information in relation to a serious three vehicle road traffic collision on Warrenpoint Road on Monday, November 7."

Inspector Weatherald added: "We received a report around 7.30pm that a collision had occurred between a red BMW, a blue Volkswagen Passat and a white van. Officers attended the scene, together with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.
"Three people were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries. The Warrenpoint Road has now reopened.
"Enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident are underway and we would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed it, or captured any dash cam or mobile phone footage, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1766 07/11/2022."
The crash occurred as strong winds and heavy rain battered Northern Ireland, with a Met Office weather warning in place. A number of roads were closed or blocked after strong winds and heavy rain brought down trees and powerlines.
