The A189 Spine Road in Blyth has been closed for several hours following a serious collision on Sunday morning.
Three people were taken to hospital after the crash, with paramedics called to the scene at 3.45am. Two were taken to the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care hospital in Cramlington and a third was transported to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle.
Emergency ambulance crews, the Great North Air Ambulance service and Hazardous Area Response Teams were all sent to the crash. Police remain on the scene as investigation work takes place into the crash.

The road is closed in both directions between Asda Roundabout in Blyth and the A192 Three Horse Shoes Roundabout, East Hartford. The closure is expected to remain in place into Sunday afternoon, with a diversion in place via Horton Road.
A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We received a 999 call at 03:45 this morning to reports of a serious road traffic incident on the A189 spine road in Blyth.
We sent two Hazardous Area Response Teams, two emergency ambulance crews, a clinical team leader and the Great North Air Ambulance Service. Two patients were taken to Cramlington hospital and one was taken to the RVI."
