Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash on the A1 on Friday morning.
Police say the A1 dual carriageway at Newry is closed in both directions between the Camlough and Bernish Road junctions. It follows a serious road traffic collision.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Motorists are advised that the A1 dual carriageway at Newry is closed in both directions between the Camlough and Bernish Road junctions following a serious road traffic collision.

"Please seek an alternative route for your journey."
In other news, temperatures in Northern Ireland fell below freezing last night. Trafficwatch NI says salting of the main roads had been undertaken. Today will be mainly dry with some bright or sunny spells.
There is "chance of a few showers this morning, mainly in the north and west and light northwesterly winds".
And a Met Office spokesperson said tonight will "be dry and chilly".
"Rain will reach the southwest soon after midnight and extend across all parts during the rest of the night," they added.
