Odell Beckham Jr. was overcome with emotions when the Los Angeles Rams clinched their Super Bowl victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
After contributing early but being knocked out of the game in the second quarter, the wide receiver was helpless to the ebbs and flows that led up to their eventual victory. Once the clock hit zero and it was clear he’d be getting fitted for a ring soon, the wide receiver couldn’t hold back the tears.
“This is everything I’ve ever dreamed of, you know,” he told CBS Sports. “And there was a moment I was in the back room and they told me I was done, I couldn’t play. And I had to come back out there and be a part of this because it’s so much bigger than myself. And these boys pulled through and made it happen.”

Early in his career, Beckham’s desire to win often showed itself in ways that drew harsh criticism. He often stated his passion for winning as a reason for different perceived transgressions, but in the moment that was rarely the conversation around the once embattled receiver.
Now, in his third career stop and not without a little controversy in between, Beckham has created a new conversation. This is a timeline of events that led up to him becoming a Super Bowl champion.
