A TikToker was hit with a gross discovery in her Shein package after trying to order some cute lil’ outfits. Guess that’s what happens when you opt for fast fashion, sometimes you get a bit of a bonus!
TikToker Emma Coad (@emma.coad.3) ordered some clothing from the budget online retailer, but was low-key shocked when three LIVE worms rolled on out. If she was in Australia, she’d probably be fined a billion dollars by customs.
In the TikTok, she pans across from her Shein packages to show three critters chilling out on a paper plate. TBH, it’s better than finding a test tube of human blood in her package, which has happened to a customer before. I’m serious!
“Shein all I wanted was the Misguided clothing and a jean skirt but instead I got worms falling out of my package,” the TikToker wrote in the caption. “I could throw up right now.”
After her video went viral, a few commenters said they’d also received some living creatures in the mail with their Shein orders.
“This happened to me but with different kind of bugs. I literally died!!!!!” one person exclaimed.
“It’s still smart to be cautious. Open your packages outside or in the laundry room. Sometimes bugs can crawl in from the warehouses BUT they’d die after a period of time,” another added.
“Mine literally came with a bug once and it was such a difficult process to get my money back,” a third wrote.
The TikToker replied to one of the comments and said she would “never [be] ordering again” from the retailer after the fiasco.
In a chat with The Sun, she said it was horrifying when she discovered the worms.
“It was disgusting! I truly wanted to throw up. I can’t make it up! I dumped the packages out and they fell out onto my feet and the ground,” she said.
She’s since reached out to Shein for compensation and was apparently told she wouldn’t be receiving a refund.
“I have contacted Shein. They unfortunately told me in emails it’s not their fault and they aren’t liable,” she told The Sun.
“They won’t give me my money back at all, which sucks. It makes me so mad they won’t give me any compensation. And clearly, they would be smart enough to do it regarding how popular my TikTok has gotten.”
However, a Shein spokesperson has since confirmed with the publication they’ve issued the TikToker a full refund. So… she got her clothes for free and three new pets?? All’s well that ends well, I guess!
