An Australian Survivor contestant has filed a lawsuit against the series’ production company over a serious injury she sustained during her time on the show.
Poker star Jackie Glazier, who competed in Australian Survivor: Heroes v Villains in 2023, has launched legal action against Endemol Shine Australia in the Victorian Supreme Court after sustaining a shoulder injury during a challenge on the show.
According to the Herald Sun, the former contestant is seeking damages, loss of past and future earnings and medical expenses.
The injury took place during a physical challenge in the first episode of the season where contestants had to jump over a large rotating cube but upon landing, she fell into a muddy, shallow pit below. Glazier and fellow contestant George Mladenov, who attempted the particular obstacle, were injured following their attempt.

Through her legal filing, Glaizer is alleging that the 30cm deep mud pit that she fell into wasn’t deep enough to be safe and that the dirt below the mud wasn’t broken up enough for a supportive landing.
Both contestants were checked out by medics but due to her injury, Glaizer was not able to continue in the competition. She was later diagnosed with a broken collarbone and ligament damage. However, this led to Glazier developing further pain, thoracic outlet syndrome — a condition that occurs when blood vessels or nerves are compressed — and a limited range of motion through her right shoulder and arm.
As a result of her injury, Glaizer has struggled to do things like daily chores and return to her work as a poker ambassador.
The court documents, filed by law firm Arnold Thomas & Becker on behalf of Glaizer, claim that the contestants on the show were “totally dependent, for the protection of their persons upon Endemol ensuring that challenges were safe and conducted safely.”
It’s not the first time her lawyer, Aki Munir, has participated in a case against Endemol Shine. She previously represented surfer Ross Clarke-Jones who sued the production company for an injury he sustained during a challenge on the 2019 season. He reached a settlement with Endemol Shine for an unknown amount before the case reached the Supreme Court.
