Brendan Fraser is now an Academy Award winner.
In one of the absolute warmest moments of the 95th Academy Awards, Fraser completed his Hollywood comeback by taking home the Best Actor trophy for his performance in The Whale.
A visibly emotional Fraser accepted the award with a touching speech that talked about his journey to the gold and gave credit to his fellow creatives and his family.
If you’ve grown up on Fraser’s films, you’re likely celebrating such a fantastic moment in the longtime actor’s career. Not many thought Fraser would ever storm back like he has, but he now has the film industry’s highest honor to show for it.

Fraser joins an elite group of actors who have taken home the Best Actor Oscar, and he’ll next get a chance to star in a possible Oscar film in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, slated to come out later this year.
