A pop-up cockapoo cafe is coming to Cardiff serving doggy capuccinos and doughnuts

Dog lovers, rejoice! The first cockapoo cafe in Wales is on its way next month - and its your chance to meet new four-legged friends, or take your pooch for a 'pupuccino'.

Revolucion de Cuba in Cardiff will be transformed into a 'cockapoo paradise' on Sunday, March 20 - where there will be an 80 minute 'off lead' experience for your dogs in an environment that will have "doggy sofas, benches and cute backdrops".

It will be in a large, indoor venue for safe socialising in a weatherproof setting, and you can treat your canine companions to a wide range of treats from the 'doggy bakery', including pupcakes, dognuts, bark-scotti and more. There will be free 'pupuccinos' worth £3.50 from the Pop+Bark mobile Pupuccino Bar.

There will also be a mini doggy market by The Crafty Dog Co for owners to buy accessories for their cockapoos, and there will also be treats for the owners themselves, with brunch and lunch dishes, coffees and cocktails.

You don't have to have a dog yourself to attend, it is open to dog lovers in general, which dog owners say will offer "the perfect experience for those who cannot have a dog at home but would love to spend time in a room full of dogs and get to know the breed".

Organiser Anushka Fernando, and author of Happy Dog Days at the Pug Café said: “We are so excited to be bringing our latest event Cockapoo Café to Cardiff. We are known for our small breed events for pugs and dachshunds in particular, but, you don’t get many events for Cockapoos so we decided to fluff things up with an event dedicated to our adorable cockapoo friends. Our London, Manchester and other locations have been so popular and we can’t wait to come to Cardiff.

"A lot of recent dogs we’ve seen at events are ‘lockdown’ dogs so it’s a chance to socialise them in a safe space where they can grow in confidence, off lead and relax. It’s so important to their self-esteem and a well socialised dog is a happy dog."

Organisers say they will be taking all appropriate safety measures, including utilising a large indoor venue with well-spaced out seating plan, multiple hand sanitising stations, props to be sanitised and cleaned regularly, reduced numbers per time slot to allow for more space.

Session times are at 10am and 11.30am with more being added upon demand. To book tickets, click here.
