A Place in the Sun wardrobe mishaps from leaking breast milk to blazer popping open

A Place In The Sun has cemented itself as one of the popular shows on British television over the past decade, and while many viewers tune in to scope out the available properties abroad, sometimes, it's the presenters which grab the attention of viewers.

Over the years, presenters of the much-loved show have suffered various mishaps, from nasty rows with hopeful home-buyers, unimpressive homes, to mortifying wardrobe malfunctions.

Most recently, presenter Laura Hamilton shed light on the struggles of being a working mum.

The TV presenter, 40, shared memories of a mishap when her breastmilk stained her dress as she hosted the Channel 4 show three weeks after giving birth.

Laura, who has hosted the show since 2012, was forced to tell producers her milk was leaking after she was no longer able to cover up a wet patch on her dress.

Laura shares Rocco, nine, and Tahlia, seven, with husband Alex Goward - with both children born during her time on the show.

Opening up about the embarrassing moment on Scott McGlynn Celebrity SkinCare King Celebrity Skin Talk, Laura recalled: “I’ve been a part of the show for nine years now, and it’s been an incredible journey.

“I travelled with my daughter when she was three-weeks old and I was filming. I went back to work and I was breastfeeding. And on camera, I had to say to the director ‘my left boob is about to start leaking milk’.

“And it did. And for the rest of the section, I had to cover my boobs with my arms to try and hide it.”

Laura also suffered embarrassment while preparing to go live on Instagram and she was left red-faced when her dress popped open in the midst of the live stream.

The presenter was interviewing Britain’s Got Talent star La Voix when the wardrobe malfunction went down.

Although the polka dress looked fabulous on Laura, the star was left mortified when her garment popped open.

“You are not going to believe what happened! Literally, okay, as I was about to start the music and stand up, the dress, the zip has popped open."

Elsewhere on A Place In The Sun, Laura's co-presenter, Danni Menzies was left mortified after her dress was ‘blown off’.

The gorgeous Channel 4 presenter then had to be sewn into the dress while hosting the episode from a sunny but windy beach.

Lifting the lid on the drama, Danni explained that presenters have to wear the same outfit all week for continuity on A Place in the Sun, but after choosing a wrap dress, Danni wished she had opted for something a bit more stable.

“We were filming on a beach one day and I wore a wrap-around dress. It was so windy, it literally blew straight off me," she explained.

“We spent the whole day looking for a shop that had a needle and thread because I’d already filmed in it so I had to keep wearing the same one.”

If that wasn't enough, Scarlette Douglas also faced embarrassment when her daring blazer was left ruined.

While hosting the show, Scarlette's buttons popped off, with the presenter telling viewers she had: “Ate all the pies."

Taking to Instagram to explain the situation, she said: “Hey Instagram, so quite a lot of you have been laughing at my pain of my button popping off my jacket. Let’s just say I was livid when it happened, because one popped off yesterday and I sewed that one back on, so I had two.

“Reinforced the second one and then the second one popped off today and then the first one popped off again.

“So I went from having two buttons to then one, to two, and then none, so I’m livid. I know it’s been a tough couple of years with Covid and everything and I definitely have been comfort eating.

“But I’m going to put it down to the quality of the jacket itself as opposed to my potbelly and me eating a lot when I come to Spain."
