A Place In The Sun star Jonnie Irwin shares sweet snaps of family Santa visit amid cancer battle

Jonnie Irwin is making precious Christmas memories with his family as he continues his battle against cancer.

Last month, the former A Place In The Sun star revealed he had terminal lung cancer but he is determined to carry on with life as normal. Now, the dad-of-three has shared some sweet photos of a family trip to visit Santa.

The 49-year-old put the pictures, showing his wife Jess and their three-year-old son Rex, on Instagram. And he wrote: "Ok, I’ve given in, Christmas is here! Nothingbtondonwith the mince pies and mulled wine on offer at all! Merry Christmas! X"

His post was liked by more than 28,000 people and hundreds of followers left messages of support, with many urging him to "stay strong". One said: "Making memories is the best - keep strong Jonnie - everyone is behind you xxxx"

Another added: "Love you Jonnie. You’re the best. Hate what you’re going through at the moment. I hope you have the very best Christmas imaginable."

A third wrote: "Gorgeous fun family pictures!! Your son has so much character just like you Jonny and his mother!!! May God bless you all and give you all the strength you need to get through this and he will!!! Love your pictures and updates and MERRY CHRISTMAS."

A fourth commented: "Fantastic, making memories that will last forever #loveyoujonnie." And another said: "Great pictures may you continue to have strength to help you all get through this. Merry Christmas."

Jonnie has said that he refuses to be beaten by the disease, which has spread from his lungs to his brain. Doctors told him that he has just months left to live.

He recently spoke about the moment he knew that something was wrong. While driving in Italy, he said he noticed his eyesight was blurry while driving. After undergoing tests at home, within a week he learned that he not only had stage four lung cancer but that it had also spread to his brain.
