A Place in the Sun star Danni Menzies was back on Instagram on Monday (October 10) to remind followers to be kind. The TV presenter had said at the beginning of the month that she was taking some time away from social media after being reported to have been hit be a moped on a London street.
According to a report in Daily Mail, Danni was left unconscious on the pavement after two females attempting to steal an unattended moped lost control of the vehicle and it hit the star. The Met Police are investigating, but pictures showed Danni covered in blood, with a swollen nose, cuts and bruises and being stretchered away.
After the incident she took to Instagram to share her experience, adding a black and white picture of the vehicle. She told followers: “Sooooo…. On Saturday I was taken out (on the pavement!) by a stolen moped that lost control. Didn’t see it coming and it’s not looking pretty right now tbh."

Adding to the post, she confirmed she would be taking a break from the social media site. Writing: “I’m sure I will be fine in a few weeks but in the meantime I will be a wee bit quiet on here.”
Now recovering at home, the Mail says that the incident has left her with post-traumatic stress disorder and post traumatic vertigo - a dizziness suffered after a head injury. A source told the paper "It's been a scary ordeal. All she hopes now is to regain her confidence, take time offline to recover, and for her facial wounds to completely heal.'"
Returning to Instagram for World Mental Health Day on Monday (October 10), Danni wrote: "It’s #worldmentalhealthday importantly reminding us to #bekind to others.
"Mental battles can rarely be seen, so let's not judge others too quickly, smile at more strangers, do more good deeds and check in on old friends. The world can be tough so let’s stick together yeh?! Not just today but everyday."
Fans were quick to respond and check on her recovery. One person said: "Hope your on the mend Danni, and allowing everyone to look after you." Another said: "Great words and feel very thankful that I have been helped by the kindness of strangers". A third added: "Well said & hope you are feeling better after the accident xx"
Others joined in, "Hope you are feeling better after your accident Danni". And the concern continued: "Hope the recovery is still going well @danni.menzies, hope you are able to post new pics soon. Take care of yourself."
