There can be a number of mistakes that people make when trying to sell their home.
From leaving undies out everywhere to bad smells hitting her as soon as she opens a door, A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton has seen it all. The Channel 4 host appeared at A Place in the Sun Live in Manchester last week where she gave advice on the do's and don'ts of selling a home.
The 40-year-old presenter said that one of the main things that people notice when buying a home is the smells. Speaking to the Liverpool ECHO, she said: "If someone is selling their home, whether abroad or in the UK, you want to present it the best way you possibly can."

Laura added: "Declutter and be mindful of the smells. If you’ve got pets like dogs and you’re aware that there’s a smell of dog in there try and air the property out. The same goes with smoke.
"You want it to smell good. That’s the first thing that hits you when you walk into a property.
"Curb appeal as well, if it looks great from the outside then it’s going to appealing and attractive. People will want to step through that front door."
When asked what the weirdest thing she has seen in a home was she said: "It does sometimes blow my mind when people want me to sell their home abroad but they leave all their washing out everywhere so there’s the odd pair of pants or knickers laying about. We end up having to tidy that away. Well, we don’t but the crew tidy everything away before we arrive.
"When you want to sell a house you want it to look as good as it can look. So it does make me laugh when people leave their smalls out."
