A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has opened up on her shock split from hubby Alex Goward after a decade of marriage.
The blonde beauty, 39, and Alex, 41, announced they had gone their separate ways last month, leading Laura to jet off on a Spanish break.
Now, the presenter has opened up about setting up house alone following what she called was a decision "we both came to".
Speaking to Hello! magazine, Laura said: "It was a chapter of my life that I am now closing, and I have so many happy memories."
She admitted that the pair are now on their own separate paths but admitted they keep respect for each other as they intend to make their children's happiness and wellbeing their priority.
The couple share two children together, son Rocco, eight, and daughter Tahlia, six.
The breakdown in the relationship hasn't put her off looking for love in the future, but she insists she isn't interested "right now".
Despite overcoming difficult times, Laura added: "There have been times I have been so overwhelmed with sadness."
However, she claims her thirties were a brilliant time in her life. "I have had some of the best years of my life," she explained before being asked how she felt about turning 40.
She replied: "There is a quote about when it is scary to jump, that is when you should or you never move on in life.
"That is how I feel about my forties, even if at times it feels quite scary and daunting. I am ready to face and embrace everything that is thrown at me."
Laura jetted to Spain last month as news of her split from insurance broker Alex was made public.
She broke the news of the split using an image featuring artwork displaying famous quote often attributed to Dr Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.
"This isn’t something I ever thought I’d be saying but, after 13 years of being together Alex and I have separated.
"Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time. Laura."
Within hours of sharing the news online, it appeared as though the presenter had made a dash to warmer climes.
Taking to Instagram, the Channel 4 star shared a stunning scenic view with her 143,000 followers on the platform.
The snap showed a crystal blue sea from her balcony in what was the first post on her social media page following the news of her split.
