The property expert revealed that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer which has spread to his brain. Jonnie said he had chosen to keep his illness private until now, but hopes sharing his diagnosis will encourage others to "make the most of every day".
Following the news, the presenter was inundated with support from his peers and fans alike as they flooded him with kind messages.

The response was too much for Jonnie as it forced him to clear his head and relocate to the countryside yesterday. Sharing his escape on Instagram with a shot of him standing in a field, he said he was "overwhelmed" by the public response.
The caption said: "Overwhelmed by your kind messages, not had the chance to read them all yet but I assure you I will. Yesterday I needed some headspace so I escaped to the country with my brother-in-law and his dog. It was a tonic. Xxo"
His A Place In The Sun co-star Danni Menzies responded with a heart emoji under the photo. Alongside her response, fans continued to share their messages of support, detailing their own experiences or labelling Jonnie as "a brave, wonderful soul."
