A Place In The Sun star Danni Menzies says she is taking time out after being run down by a stolen moped - and injured to the extent her phone isn't recognising her face.
The 33-year-old Scottish Channel 4 host took to Instagram on Monday to tell fans that she had been "taken out" by the vehicle after it lost control while riding on the pavement. She added that her situation wasn't "looking pretty" - but added that she would hopefully be better in a few weeks.
However, she hinted at the grievous extent of her injuries with a screenshot from her iPhone, in which the Face ID facial recognition system appears not to recognise her. She captioned the pic: "Looking forward to this not being a thing," signing it off with a laughing emoji.
She wrote: "Sooooooooo.....on Saturday I was taken out (on the pavement!!) by a stolen moped that lost control. Didn't see it coming and it's not looking pretty right now tbh."
"I'm sure I will be fine in a few weeks but in the meantime I might be a wee bit quiet on here." She ended the post with a white love heart emoji.
Property expert Danni has hosted A Place In The Sun for six years alongside fellow Scot Jean Johansson, Ben Hillman, Lee Juggurnauth, Leah Charles-King and Craig Rowe.
However, she stood down from the show this year and is now filming a reality show, The Challenge, with MTV and Channel 5.
The scrape with a wayward moped rider is not the first brush she's had with danger. In 2018 she revealed she was almost kidnapped by a gang in Mexico while she was working as a model.
The experience left her so shaken she spent the next night locked in her room armed with scissors, terrified the gang would strike again.
