A Place In The Sun's Craig Rowe says presenting show can be 'exhausting'

Craig Rowe said presenting A Place In The Sun is an "exhausting" process.

Channel 4 welcomed the property expert just last year and his charming personality and demeanour have made home an instant favourite amongst fans. Craig joined the illustrious ranks of fellow presenters Jasmine Harman, Jonnie Irwin and Laura Hamilton, helping families locate their perfect holiday homes.

The show looks like a breeze through the countryside but it is far more tolling than viewers would expect. In an interview with The Express, Craig, 49, recalled how challenging A Place In The Sun can be.

He said: "I never want to say this to people because they must think, ‘oh, goodness me, get the violins out. I guess I'm used to working hard and long hours, but I think because you've got to travel, the days are quite long and obviously, it's hot and I'm standing in direct sunlight after I've been travelling from place to place, location to location.

"So, it's maybe harder work than I realised but I do love it but [I remember my boss] saying, ‘How's it going?’ and I said, ‘I love it. It's exhausting and exhilarating. It's a steep learning curve, exhausting, and totally brilliant'. That sums it up.”

Craig admitted he was worried about the first episode airing as he was concerned viewers wouldn't be drawn to him. He said: "It's such a well-established programme and I think as a new person coming in, I was slightly worried people were going to enjoy my shows as much as the really established presenters."
