A Place in the Sun Ben Hillman was taken aback by a complaint from the buyers on today's show.
The expert was helping John and Liz find their dream home abroad on Thursday's edition of the popular Channel 4 programme. The couple met around five years ago and were looking for a property in Gran Canaria they could live in once they retire.
They were armed with a budget of £140,000 and wanted a one bedroom home that was near to the beach and had plenty of outdoor space. However, the search got off to a tricky start as the buyers were very unimpressed with the first home.

The one-bed apartment in Mar Paraiso was priced at £136,036 and was close to local amenities. However, Ben had a feeling the viewing may not be going to plan when the buyers remained silent as they entered the home.
He said: "You've gone quiet." John spoke up how the space in the property was a major concern.
He said: "This is more like somewhere you'd come for a week for a holiday rather than a permanent home. We want to have a kitchen, I couldn't do much with paella or a pie and chips - I would like an oven."
Liz added: "My two boys live in the house, we don't live with them but they would be coming out here, and there's not enough room." Ben was confused by the living arrangement as he asked where Liz was staying.
She responded: "A caravan. But the caravan's bigger than this." The search quickly improved and they fell in love with the second home on the search.
However, their heads were turned by the final home on the search in Playa del Cura. John and Liz initially wanted a home in the Puerto Rico area of the island but the strength of the final property changed their mind and they decided to explore more areas before placing a bid.
