An Edinburgh couple have appeared on A Place in the Sun in their bid to find the holiday home of their dreams with a budget of £90,000. Manigeh and Ian met twelve years ago and between them they have ten adult children and four grandchildren.
During Friday's episode of the Channel 4 programme they said they that the time was right to look overseas for a place to go and escape the miserable Scottish weather.
They both love the lifestyle in Spain, and the buzz of a busy town, so they've chose the seaside town of Torrevieja to base their search. On hand to help them was property expert Jean Johansson, who has five great options for their budget.
Torrevieja is a city and region on Spain's Costa Blanca, and is a 40 minute drive south of Alicante airport, which has direct flights from the UK taking about 3 hours.
It's a hugely popular destination for holiday makers and the sparkling sea and sandy beaches are often filled with sun worshippers and families.
Torrevieija is also famous for its salt lakes; one pink and one green. Both are found in it’s beautiful Nature Park, and in the Summer, temperatures reach around 31C.
Manigeh and Ian ended up setting their eyes on a place costing them £81,000, however, just a few days later the seller withdrew their offer and took the property off the market.
