A Place In The Sun couple rule out property after seeing strange feature in bedroom

A Place In The Sun left a couple and viewers stunned after showing a strange feature in a property's bedroom.

On Tuesday night's episode, host Jasmine Harman was in Charente in southwestern France to show married couple Debbie and Guy a few holiday home options.

The couple had a budget of £135,000 and were hoping to find the perfect property to start their holiday rental business.

Unfortunately, Debbie and Guy weren't impressed with the first viewing as the two-bedroom home was too small for their liking.

Debbie said they'd have to 'knock through walls' to make it work.

The second home, which consisted of three bedrooms, seemed to make Debbie and Guy a lot happier.

For £121,000, the couple would have the main house as well as an attached barn and huge kitchen.

Everything seemed perfect until they went upstairs to have a look at the bedroom.

Although it had gorgeous wooden beams and endless space, they couldn't get over the giant red bathtub casually sitting to the side of the room.

"What do you think of this arrangement?" Jasmine asked the couple.

Guy jokingly said: "I love that you put a swimming pool in there for me. Off the bed, into the pool. Amazing."

"I just can't imagine me being in the bed while Guy's in the bath," Debbie added while Jasmine laughed.

Viewers were equally as confused about the tub and took to social media to question the decoration.

"I was sold until the bath next to the bed. NEXT," one user said while another added: "Stop. Putting. Baths. In. Bedrooms. This is a house, not a love hotel".

One viewer posted: " Really find having the bath in the bedroom annoying! Why do that?!"

Having a bathtub in the bedroom doesn't have too many historical explanations and has more to do with preference and luxury.

The couple didn't think the property was their dream home but insisted it was a strong contender.

Guy and Debbie wanted a home that didn't require much, or any, renovation.

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
