A Place in the Sun buyers put host 'out of her misery' with surprising decision

A husband and wife on A Place in the Sun seemed to have a never-ending list of requests, according to viewers.

Host Jasmine Harman had the job of finding potential buyers Bill and Sandra their perfect holiday home for £80,000 in Kapparis, eastern Cyprus. They hoped for a two-bedroom property with outside space so they could enjoy their time with their children and grandchildren.

They initially said that a pool would be a bonus, but not essential. They also hoped for a good kitchen and a home close to the coast. At first they seemed as though they would be easy to please.

However, as Jasmine showed the couple around several apartments, their lists of demands kept changing drastically. By the second home they had decided that a swimming pool was essential after all due to the grandkids wanting somewhere to play.

Views also proved to be important as they were shown a couple of properties with stunning landscapes, but it was one with a potato field to look at that appealed to them most. Bill joked that they could hop over and pinch a few potatoes for their fresh home cooking.

They also complained about the various spacious kitchens shown to them as most shared space with the living area. Jasmine said it was hard to find much more space within their small budget.

Fans on Twitter were baffled by what the couple were actually looking for, as they didn't seem to know. One user said: "Jesus Christ do they like anything are they just out for a freebie holiday are they actually looking to buy anything #aplaceinthesun."

Tony said: "What next? They don't like the colour of the soil in the field!! #APLACEINTHESUN" Meanwhile, Mags said: "No imagination whatsoever. For such a modest budget, they are expecting far too much! #aplaceinthesun."

After seeming unimpressed at most of the choices presented to them, Jasmine finally asked if they had made a decision. Reflecting on all five of the properties shown, she said to them: "I still don't know which one it's going to be, so why don't you put me out of my misery? Have you managed to actually choose a favourite?"

Bill surprisingly answered positively as he announced that they had opted for the second property - a two-bedroomed apartment with a swimming pool. Their offer of £72,700 was eventually accepted as the host became overjoyed.

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4 and All 4
