A place in the sun buyer 'feels sorry' for property that she 'wants to give love' to

A buyer on A Place in the Sun "felt sorry" for a property today.

Jonnie Irwin helped to find the perfect home for Tracy around the lakes of Languedoc on the Channel 4 show. She said she hoped to move to the south of France because the climate is so unreliable in England, and wanted to turn her property into a B&B.

She hoped for a "typical period French property" in a village or town with at least two guestrooms and en-suite bathrooms. Tracey had a budget of £110,000 with about £10,000 wriggle room.

Jonnie said: "You're asking for quite a lot." He went on to warn her that there would need to be compromises along the way of the search. She accepted that and said she was confident in him.

After being shown a quirky, four bedroom house for £121,000. and later a seven bedroom house with ground floor outdoor space for £116,50, Tracey was still unimpressed. However, the third property struck a chord with the buyer.

The second-to-last property that Tracy was shown was a building that was a bit of a project. It had seven bedrooms for just under £107,000 but was certainly a doer-upper.

Tracy said: "It wasn't just the potential of the building, it kind of touched me here." She pointed to her chest as she added: "I felt really sorry that it hasn't been loved for a long time and I'd love to be that person that gave it to it. Because there is massive potential here."

She said: "I'm just worried that it is a massive project." She added: "I think if I were going to make an offer on this it would have to be substantially lower."

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4 and All 4
