It’s been almost four decades since James Cameron’s Aliens hit theaters and took everyone by storm. People are still enamored with it too, and fans can take an express elevator back into that hellish universe soon enough.
On Thursday, 20th Century Games and Survios announced an all-new Aliens game. It’ll be a single-player horror title with action elements developed on Unreal Engine 5 for PC, VR, and yet-to-be-revealed consoles. According to the project’s official website, the story will take place somewhere between Alien and Aliens. Details beyond that are pretty vague, though more information is coming at the Alien: Expanding a Dark and Frightening Universe panel at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 21, 2022.
“When I joined Survios in 2020, it was to build bigger, more ambitious games, using the best entertainment franchises across console, PC, and VR platforms,” TQ Jefferson, chief product officer at Survios, said in a press release. “Aliens is a distinct and terrifying world that fans love to be entrenched in, and it is perfect for Survios’ proven expertise in creating immersive gaming experiences.”
Survios typically specializes in VR experiences. Creed: Rise to Glory, the studio’s most popular title, was quite well received by critics. Unfortunately, The Walking Dead: Onslaught wasn’t. Hopefully, this Aliens project is another hit.
