A new pub is coming to Didsbury at the former Botanist site

Didsbury is getting a new pub in the form of The Wishing Well. Opening next week, it’s taken over the site of the Botanist on School Lane, and will be serving up pub classics and Sunday roasts.

Produce will be sourced from locals like Didsbury fishmonger Evans and butcher Jack Wood. Dishes on the menu will include a classic ham, eggs and chips, accompanied by a roast pineapple salsa, a steak pie and proper mash, and fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce and mushy peas.

Meanwhile, the grill will serving up ribeyes, sirloins and fillets, alongside a sea bass linguine. The pub will feature ‘hidden’ screens for showing key sports games, and will be welcoming ‘diners, drinkers, ramblers, prams and pups’.

Programming-wise, there will be live music from local artists, and some new outdoor space too.

Co-owner Youssef Loutfi said: “We can’t wait to be part of the community in Didsbury Village, it’s such a vibrant place and the locals we’ve been chatting with whilst we’ve been building the pub have been so friendly.

“We’ve put a lot of effort into making sure we’ve got something for everyone and we just can’t wait to open the doors now.”

Bookings are being taken now, and the pub opens properly to the public on April 1.
