A New Experience Awaits You When Disaster Golf Arrives on Steam this January 23

There's been a lot of video games focused on golf but this upcoming title from Hippo Havoc though is set to shake up the genre. Dubbed as "Disaster Golf," it's best described as a natural disaster physics-based sports hybrid game. What makes this different is that rather than use golf clubs, players instead get to use different disasters to move the ball.

Disaster Golf is coming to the PC via Steam on January 23 and priced at $1.99. Initially, the game was supposed to be free-to-play. However, the studio revealed in a post that a price was added as a result of its partnership with VoxPop Games as publisher. The studio went on to say that with this partnership, the game hopefully is going to reach a wide audience. In addition, by having a price this means that game can be features in different sales and festivals happening on Steam.

Another interesting feature of the game is its unique take on the Par system. In regular golf games, it's measured in strokes. However, for Disaster Golf, it's all about the time taken to bring the ball to the hall. Making things even more fun is that there's going to be an online leaderboard which tracks the time of all players. How fun is that? In addition, there's also a feature called as ghost ball which when activated allows a player to see how that time was achieved.

Other features of the game are:

  • Multiple Level Themes
    • Get to golf across various biomes.
    • Prepare to explore the beautiful worlds of Disaster Golf.
  • Challenge Mode
    • Replay any level in its challenge mode with carefully selected and preset disasters.
    • This introduces a unique way of playing.
    • Each challenge mode variant of a level has its own leaderboard.
  • Hippos
    • Hippos here, hippos there, hippos everywhere.
