David Bailey's iconic 60s portraits will be celebrated in a new exhibition, with photos of Mick Jagger, Michael Caine and David Hockney featuring in the show.

The exhibition will be held at Gagosian's Mayfair venue, and will hone in on what was a pivotal decade for the photographer.

With both portraits and contact prints on display, it will feature big names from the worlds of art, film and music, including Andy Warhol, Jane Birkin, Man Ray and Jean Shrimpton.

With a career spanning more than six decades, Bailey is known for his striking black and white images that capture seemingly spontaneous moments. Curators have chosen 12 of these iconic photos for the upcoming exhibition.

The 60s saw Bailey cement his reputation, starting with his work for British Vogue at the beginning of the decade, followed by the publication of his first photography book in 1965.

A major exhibition of Bailey's work was shown at the National Portrait Gallery in 2014.

The Sixties runs from February 14 - March 30, 17-19 Davies St, W1K 3DE, gagosian.com
