A New And Re-Designed Armored Mewtwo Figure Is Released This July

Mewtwo has a newly re-designed armored variant on the way this July.

What with the upcoming Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution movie released in Japan this July, it looks like Takara Tomy has a new armored figure planned for Mewtwo.

As Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution is meant to be a remake of Mewtwo Strikes Back, we already knew that a re-design of Armored Mewtwo was planned.

We saw it very briefly in one of the newer trailers for the movie but now Takara Tomy has revealed the action figure, which shows the armored re-design in more detail.

Firstly, you get what looks like a very nice action figure of Mewtwo out of this. That alone is something to be happy about, but the really nice addition is the new armor set.

These are are separate parts that strap on to Mewtwo to create this updated armored variant.

While I prefer the original design of the sleeker armor, this new armor set is very nicely done and still looks very good indeed.

What’s more, the new armor doesn’t seem to interfere too much with the articulation of the base Mewtwo figure, which is good.

If you are interested in picking up one of these Armored Mewtwo figures, then it is released on July 27 for 4,860 yen (or around $45) and you can pre-order it from places such as HobbyLink Japan.

Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution will be released in theaters in Japan on July 12 and released in the West on November 17.
