A mural of The Corrs has appeared in their hometown leaving fans divided

Fans have been left divided after a mural of The Corrs has been unveiled in their hometown on a pub wall.

The painting appeared on the wall of McManus’ Pub in Seatown in Dundalk in Co. Louth.

The mural by CN Mural Designs depicts Dundalk’s most famous musical siblings, alongside President Bill Clinton.

But fans have been left divided on the mural.

“All the amazing murals around town..then this. It’s up there with the recycling bins of Dundalk..IMO” wrote one person.

Another wrote: "Looks like a child did this one, looks terrible.”

Another said: “First off terrible portrait of The Corrs. The Corrs are beautiful and this is an insult to them,” while another said: “Absolute mess needs to go.”

"Jesus Christ on a bike is there no planning needed to do a painting? It’s a complete hames, bad beyond belief,” said another.

A number of commenters said that the portraits reminded them of characters from ‘Walking Dead’.

"Don’t get me wrong, I cant draw a stick man with a ruler,,, but this is awful..!!! The walk dead Corrs?? Andrea with a pint on her head? Sorry its desperate.”

" Seatown Zombie Corrs and Zombie Clinton” wrote one while someone else said they thought it was ‘Gene Simmons from KISS or yer one from Walking Dead.

“Not very flattering to The Corr family.”

But others were more complimentary.

"I love it. It captures the music sessions that McManus had. And many a good nite (sic) I had there,” one commenter wrote on Facebook. Other comments stated “That is stunning, well done” ‘Very impressive, love it” and ‘Class job no pleasing some people”.

Another said: “Great piece of work,” while another added: “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!! I think it’s amazing!”

The band have yet to make any comment about the mural when contacted by The Irish Daily Star.

The Corrs have a close association with the pub as their late aunt Lillian ran the popular pub with her husband Brendan McElarney for many years and they worked in the bar part-time before hitting their music breakthrough.

Bill Clinton famously quipped on his visit to Dundalk in 2001 that he might apply for a job there when his term of office ended.

McManus’ was renowned as a music venue and its association with The Corrs meant that fans of the band travelled from all over the world to see the bar where the siblings pulled pints before going on to achieve international stardom.
