A mic’d up Scoot Henderson getting excited for his teammates should cheer up Blazers fans

Portland Trail Blazers rookie Scoot Henderson was limited during NBA 2K24 Summer League due to a shoulder injury.

But the rookie guard is still on the sidelines cheering for his teammates and the vibes are immaculate. Henderson, 19, was selected at No. 3 overall by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Although the Trail Blazers reached a bizarre inflection point in their franchise timeline history after longtime Portland star Damian Lillard requested a trade earlier in the offseason, Henderson projects as the next man up for this team.

While his shoulder injury has kept him from showcasing what he can do on the court, his off-court energy is already nothing short of thrilling:

Just look at the genuine thrill that Henderson is feeling toward his new teammates after a defensive highlight during Portland’s victory over the Magic on Thursday.

Henderson was in the middle of an interview during an ESPN broadcast during this thrilling moment, but that didn’t stop him from getting hyped.

Portland fans are going through a lot right now, but they should rest easy knowing that they have a young star on the rise like Henderson.

They ought to remember that if he is showing this much energy while on the sidelines during NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, we can’t even begin yet to imagine how much passion he is going to play with on the court during the regulation games and (eventually) the postseason.
