The UK’s biggest outdoor retro music festival Let’s Rock has announced it's coming to Cardiff next summer. The popular event will take place at the city's Bute Park on May 27 and is set to feature a 'who's who' from the '80s pop scene.
The concert will be headlined by Soft Cell and Wet Wet Wet, while the rest of the line-up includes the evergreen likes of Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley, Imagination, Nik Kershaw, Go West, Heather Small from M People, Heatwave, Hue & Cry, Five Star and many more.
It'll also be the first time in nearly 20 years that Marc Almond and Dave Ball have played together as Soft Cell at an outdoor festival. The duo, who've sold over 10million albums worldwide and enjoyed twelve UK Top 40 hits, reformed in 2018 to play a sold-out reunion show at London’s 02 and recently released their first album of new material in two decades.

The show will also represent a 'return to normal' for its organisers, after two challenging, pandemic-hit years. 2021's gig at Newport's Tredegar Park, for example, had to be postponed twice in a matter of months. Initially due to have taken place that summer, fans were then informed that it would instead be pushed back to September.
However, the one-day festival was then delayed once again, eventually taking place in June this year. Its organisers and founders Nick Billinghurst and Matt Smith described the support they'd received from audiences as "truly humbling."
"After two difficult years it means the world to us that our loyal fans have stuck with us," they said. "We’re already looking forward to 2023 and are proud to announce what we hope you’ll agree is a spectacular line-up for Let’s Rock Wales."
Let’s Rock is a family-friendly festival; children can enjoy complimentary activities within the ‘Kids’ Kingdom’ area with an interactive circus, face painting, inflatables and more. For adults, there are multiple bars and a ‘Club Tropicana’ VIP area, plus of course the all-important posh loos.
