A woman has told of her decision to refuse a man's request to remove her bag from the seat beside her when he asked to sit down, even though most of the carriage was empty.
The woman, aged in her 30s, revealed that there were only five or six others aboard, and after sitting down at a four-seater, she spread out her belongings in an act of comfort.
Upset by the man's behaviour, she picked up her stuff and moved to another four-seater. She was shocked when the man followed, making the same strange request again, The Mirror reported.

Taking to forum website and app Reddit, the perturbed passenger wrote: "Before I could even get my shoes off, the dude was standing in front of me and said, 'move your bag'. I asked why.
"He said that he wanted to sit there. I answered that he had been wanting that certain seat that I vacated for him, so I don't see why he would want to switch seats."
She explained that "he scoffed" and said that it was not about that particular seat but about 'entitled people who think their bags deserve a seat'. She stated that she moved once for him but wouldn't be doing so again.
"He made a movement as if he wanted to grab my bag and I raised my voice saying 'don't you f****** dare!'. He started lamenting about entitled people again. I told him 'I moved for you. There are hundreds of free seats on this train, sit somewhere else," she wrote on the popular online website.
At this point, the agitated man, who she estimates was aged in his 50s, quit and returned to his seat, where he began to audibly voice his complaints about 'entitled b******' in what she thinks was a pretend phone call he was making.
She added: "To be clear, when a train fills up, I of course gather my stuff and vacate seats around me so that others can sit. But I don't see why I should let some rando boss me around and invade my personal space for no reason."
Other Reddit users took her side, with many saying that he wouldn't have followed a man around the train in the same manner.
One person wrote: "This guy is a creeper and looking to cause trouble with you, a woman. Good for you not putting up with it."
Another said that if the train was half-empty, it's none of his concern what you do.
"After you moved and he followed you, he escalated the situation and frankly, he behaved like a certified creep. The move to grab your bag was a big no-no," they said.
Adding: "Good thing you raised your voice: too often women are inculcated by society to be quiet, to be nice, not to cause a scene."
