‘A lot of frustration’: Bulls hold team meeting after loss to Indiana

On Tuesday, the Chicago Bulls suffered arguably their most embarrasing loss of the season, falling to the slumping Indiana Pacers, 116-110.

The Bulls blew a 21-point first-half lead after being outscored by the Pacers 70-48 in the second-half to see their three-game winning streak snapped and ending the Pacers’ seven-game skid.

Following the loss, the Bulls reportedly held another team meeting in the locker room to discuss what went wrong in the humiliating loss.

“It’s very frustrating because we keep talking about the same issues, and if they don’t get fixed and we keep repeating the same mistakes, it’s hard to expect better results,” Nikola Vučević said. “We don’t do it. It’s all the details. It’s not the big things.”

“A game like this, we’re supposed to win,” Zach LaVine said. “Especially the way we played in the first half. You can put that on us not being able to close the game out and execute down the stretch.”

For LaVine, his shooting struggles continued on Tuesday, scoring only 14 points on just 4-of-14 from the floor and 0-of-7 from 3-point range.

Billy Donovan referenced that the Bulls were ‘overwhelmed’ in the second-half due to the intensity and physicality that the Pacers played with to get back into the game.

“Honestly, there’s not much to be said,” Vucevic said. There’s nothing you can say. It’s just a lot of frustration. We did all the talking. So we’ve just got to do it or this is where we’re going to be.”

At this point with the trade deadline three weeks away, the Bulls must decide on what they’re future looks like — a mediocre team that may or may not make the playoffs or a rebuilding franchise with a collection of future assets.
