Not even the Oscar ceremony is pandemic-proof.
Since stars were told they couldn’t attend if they’d tested positive for Covid within five days of tomorrow's awards, the panic among them has been increasingly palpable.
Over the last few days, Goss has witnessed many celebs choosing not to turn up to LA events for fear of getting sick before the big night.
Others have flown in family to see their big moment play out, only to have them test positive and hole up in their hotels.
One A-list publicist tells Goss: “A lot of our clients are being very discerning about what Oscar week parties to go to – or whether they go to any at all – because it’s simply not worth the risk for them not to be able to be there on such a big night in their career.”
Guests are being asked to present proof of their vaccination status as well as a negative PCR test result.

One nominee tells us: “I flew my parents here and now they have Covid.
"We’re testing every day and are just hoping they’ll be OK.”
Other A-listers, including Benedict Cumberbatch, have shunned the pre Oscar parties altogether – in part due to work but also to reduce risk, flying in just before the event instead.
An insider says: “Benedict is busy working on another production and has no time to go to the pre-Oscar parties, but that’s also probably for the best as he can’t afford to get sick.
“It’s really been a case of jetting in and getting out ASAP.”
Other stars, including Benedict’s The Power of the Dog director Jane Campion, are being tested multiple times a day.
A different source says: “Jane is being tested three times a day, as are other cast. None of the nominees want to miss a pivotal moment.
"They can’t take risks going to pre-Oscar events."
