A Knicks fan won a car with a half-court shot and immediately ran to hug Ben Stiller

There are some moments in life that feel so movie-like that it only makes sense to run and embrace someone who knows a thing or two about cinema.

At Madison Square Garden on Friday night, one lucky fan found himself in that kind of moment after being invited down to the court to attempt a half-court shot for a brand new Kia.

Not only did the fan absolutely drain the bucket from well beyond half-court — no, seriously, this thing made the most perfect swish — he got the hero treatment on the floor of the World’s Most Famous Arena. Then, in an act that can only be described as Valvanian, the fan ran around looking for someone to hug and landed on…Ben Stiller.

The comedian is a mainstay at Knicks game — and has a very active BlueSky account where he’s always posting about the team. He’s also having quite a moment himself lately. With the long-awaited return of his AppleTV+ show Severance, Stiller has been doing a ton of press and wild pop-ups.

In any case, there are probably few celebrities everyone would want a hug from after a massive sports achievement. I think we can all agree Stiller is one of them.
