Things seem to be going great in Philadelphia, don’t they?
One moment, you’ve got Jalen Hurts talking about how the team isn’t “committed enough” after throwing two interceptions to Julian Love late in the game.
The next moment, you’ve got A.J. Brown clapping back at fans who criticized Hurts for seemingly forcing the ball to him so much late in games. Everything is just a mess right now.
It’s no secret that Brown is Hurts’ favorite target. And he’s been effective this season to the tune of 7 touchdowns and nearly 1400 yards on the season so far. But that connection came back to bite the Eagles against the Seahawks late in the game when Philadelphia just couldn’t get anything going.
A fan pointed out that Hurts forced the ball to brown on a play where Devonta Smith was very clearly wide open underneath.
This one hurts because smitty was gonna get atleast 40 yards on this play with AJ as a lead blocker. pic.twitter.com/AALl2Fc7ph

He just missed him. There’s no good explanation for it. Instead of hitting Smith, Hurts forced the ball to Brown searching for a big play that clearly didn’t come to fruition.
Eagles fans have found themselves extremely frustrated with these two at points during this season. It’s felt at times like Hurts was forcing the ball to Brown. Some fans think it’s because of the close friendship between the two.
A.J. Brown wasn’t having any of that, though. He saw this tweet and decided to respond in a very NSFW way. He’s tired of fans bringing this up.
Sheesh, man. I get the frustration here if you’re Brown. Obviously, it’s easier to see things developing after they’ve happened — hindsight is always 20/20. But going at fans like this after a few disappointing weeks from the team is not a good look.
Winning cures everything. If the Eagles win, this isn’t a thing. But, man, a season that once looked so promising just feels like an utter disaster now.
We’ll see if Philly can right the ship.
