A.J. Brown says release of new shirt wasn’t directed at Titans firing GM

The Tennessee Titans fired general manager Jon Robinson on Tuesday in what was one of the more shocking moves of the entire 2022 NFL season.

Another move that was right up there in terms of shocking was the Titans’ decision to trade wide receiver A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles, something that no doubt aided in J-Rob getting the boot.

Brown is in the midst of a career year, and making matters worse, he just burned the Titans in Week 13 for eight catches, 119 yards, and two touchdowns in a 35-10 Eagles win.

With Robinson’s firing coming two days after that, we can only assume Brown’s performance that embarrassed the Titans was the final straw.

Just a few hours after Robinson’s firing, Brown tweeted out a new shirt for sale on his website that depicts him as “The Terminator.” Of course, many took this as a shot after the Titans GM was terminated on Tuesday.

However, Brown claims that was not the case at all in a now-deleted tweet.

“I will never kick another man while he’s down,” Brown said. “The shirts was made few days ago. My eye has been red for two weeks now. That’s not who I am.”

In Brown’s defense, he did have that red eye long before the Titans game. However, the timing of the shirt’s release is one heck of a coincidence if Brown wasn’t throwing shade.

We’ll have to take Brown at his word here, but after we’ve seen him troll his former team since being traded to Philly, along with the timing of this shirt’s release, we can’t say we blame anyone who thinks otherwise.
