A.J. Brown on playing for Titans’ Mike Vrabel: ‘No fun over there’

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown recently dished on what it was like to play for head coach Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee Titans, and even compared his experience in Nashville to his new home in Philly.

Brown was a second-round pick of the Titans in 2019 and spent three seasons there before being traded during the 2022 NFL draft.

The 25-year-old was a guest on “The Crew NYC” recently and said that playing for Vrabel was “no fun,” and compared the Titans head coach’s approach to that of New England Patriots head coach, Bill Belichick.

“I got a lot of respect for [Vrabel], but he’s the Belichick way. Everything is lock in, no fun over there; we’re going to get the job done,” Brown explained. “But over here, [head coach Nick Sirianni] is just letting us have fun, do what we do, let us express our personality. And I think that’s huge.”

While Vrabel is certainly open to criticism for his approach during his time in Nashville, it’s hard to knock it too much after the Titans have enjoyed four consecutive winning seasons, including three trips to the playoffs, one of which ended in the AFC Championship Game.

Brown’s quote will only add more intrigue to his first meeting with his old team, which comes in Week 13 in Philadelphia.
