A.J. Brown has record setting debut for Eagles in 38-35 win over Lions in Week 1

The Eagles paid A.J. Brown $100 million to be a difference maker and all he did on Sunday in the season opener was break a franchise record.

Philadelphia exploded offensively against the Lions, coming away with a 38-35 victory in which Brown went off for ten catches on 13 targets and 155-yards receiving.

Brown’s 155 receiving yards against the Detroit Lions in Week 1 is the most receiving yards ever for a Philadelphia Eagles player in his first game, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, eclipsing a mark set by Donte’ Stallworth (141 yards) in 2006.

Only Anquan Boldin (208 yards, 49ers) and Randy Moss (183 yards, Patriots) had better debuts after being traded in the past 30 years, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.

The Eagles will now head home for a gigantic Monday night matchup against the Vikings and one of the NFL’s top receivers, Justin Jefferson.
