Eagles receiver A.J. Brown’s frustrations with his team’s three-game losing streak and his own recent performances appear to be getting to him.
Brown, who was atypically quiet on the stat sheet with only five receptions for 56 yards in Philadelphia’s 20–17 loss to the Seahawks on Monday night, was spotted having a heated interaction with an individual on Seattles’s sideline. The Eagles receiver’s bitterness appears to have spilled over onto his account on X, formerly known as Twitter.
On Tuesday, Brown got into it with an Eagles fan over the struggles of the team's offense, pushing back against a theory that the team forces the ball into his hands.
Yall fans swear yall know everything. It’s a shot play to me .i’m the 1st read . He Just missed the throw. of course we could’ve threw it 6 because it didn’t work but when the shit works everyone is happy. Quit all that buddy ball shit. I am decoys on many plays https://t.co/nWoYviSj1i

And all that he forcing me the ball shii too . I’m in his head bullshii. When I make plays , everyone happy , but when it’s incomplete it’s I’m making him throw me the ball. I get blame for more shit than anything. Tired of yall playing with my character.

The Eagles fan pointed to a specific play during the game against the Seahawks, when quarterback Jalen Hurts targeted Brown deep despite seemingly having fellow receiver DeVonta Smith open for an easier completion. But Brown wasn't having it, explaining that he was the "first read" on the play.
The Eagles receiver then ranted at the fan, saying that the narrative when plays don't work is that he is to blame.
Earlier in the season, Brown was spotted having a testy exchange with Hurts, one that was downplayed by both parties. But the media and fans ran with the interaction, painting it as a potential ”diva receiver" moment. When Brown's usage seemed to increase after the argument with Hurts, the narrative only grew stronger.
Fair or not, Brown will have to deal with that, especially if the Eagles continue to lose.
