A huge vegan festival is coming to Salford this May

For the first time ever, Vegan Market Co will be pitching up in Salford's Greengate Square this May, for a weekend of vegan street food, beers, and ethical shopping. Taking place on Saturday, 7 May, The Salford Vegan Market will showcase a handpicked selection of the very best sustainable businesses.

The event will feature an impressive selection of local vegan street food, artisan bakes and craft cheeses, as well as handmade cosmetics, ethical clothing and crafts. Lewis Beresford, Vegan Market Co's founder said: "We are so excited to be in Salford for the first time.

"We work hard to find the country's leading vegan producers, from street food vendors and bakers to ethical clothing and cosmetic procedures. We also work with many local businesses and can't wait to give all of these fantastic producers the platform they deserve and introduce them to the wonderful people of Salford."

Vegan Market Co ran its first event in Cambridge in 2016, and since then, it has go one to host events in over 40 locations across the UK. Recent pit stops have included Lancaster, Sheffield and Leeds.

Bringing together a new wave of artisan producers, Vegan Markets Co is guided by a mission to make veganism as accessible and inclusive as possible. The event is designed for anyone and everyone, whether you're vegan, vegetarian or simply just curious about plant-based goods.

Organisers are also mindful of the carbon footprint associated with running events like this, which is why the team work with Ecologi to offset their emissions by supporting conservation projects around the world.

Another way they up their eco-friendly credentials is by planting a tree for every business that takes part in the markets. For each event, roughly 40 trees are planted in parts of the world that need them the most.

Salford Vegan Market will take place at Greengate Square and will run from 10.30-16.00 on Saturday, May 7. To find out more, head to the website here. I
