
Sydneysiders, Melburnians and Adelaideans will experience a mini heatwave over the weekend, with temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees before teetering off and plunging into a swift cold snap with highs in the early-to-mid-20s by Monday.
Parts of the East Coast can expect to sweat under a whopping 39 degrees on Saturday, including folks attending the Melbourne Grand Prix or National Rugby League matches in Sydney. (Best to keep a cold bev on hand for these.)
Looks like summer still has some fire left, even with autumn creeping ever closer.

The South Coast will also feel the dry heat coming their way, with Adelaide hitting 38 degrees and Ceduna expected to reach up to 41 degrees.
Canberra is also expected to hit a high of 35 degrees on Saturday, and parts of the Northern Territory will reach the high 30s too.
The mini heatwave will begin from today until it starts to drop off on Sunday, which will fall to the mid-to-low 20s, before plunging into a cold spike on Monday that will be felt nationwide.
Folks around the country, especially in Victoria and Tasmania, can also expect to see some rainfall on Sunday.

Colder weather is set to begin on Monday, and Victorians can look forward to a chilly low of 11 degrees and a high of 18, with South Australia hitting similar temperatures that’ll get to the high-20s.
NSW will remain a bit warmer, and will see a low of 15 degrees that’ll reach up to 26, with the rest of the week remaining in the mid-20s to early-30s.
