Well, I would definitely suggest you log in today to Genshin Impact to see the rather…dramatic changes the Midsummer Island Adventure map has undergone. After you complete part of the opening quest today, you will discover that this chain of tiny islands has turned into a chain of much, much bigger islands, and there’s suddenly a whole lot more to explore.
As such, you will need to be taking your boat around between islands more than ever before, and I highly suggest you employ this specific trick while you’re taking the boat around.
Like you while you’re running, you also have a stamina bar within your boat that runs out when you accelerate quickly over time. However, there’s a way to instantly restore it to keep you at full stamina all the time, essentially.
All you have to do is hold down the jump button to fly out of the boat, and then immediately get back into it once you land. This will fully restore the stamina of the boat and is faster than waiting around for your bar to recharge as you sail slowly through the water.
Given that there are a lot more places to explore, I expect you’ll be using this quite often as you hunt down side missions and conch shells. There are also boat races today that have just gone live, but I would actually not recommend you using this method in them, because they are specifically designed with boosts and such that will allow you to race around through the course much faster than you normally would.
I am legitimately impressed with just how much work went into this entire new zone, and one that appears like it’s only going to be present for 40 days or so, according to the event list, and the core concept that this is a disappearing island chain that only shows up some of the time. It seems like a lot of effort for a temporary bit of content, but I suppose that’s the live service model. This does seem to be a much more meaty update than normal, however, and it’s brought me back to Genshin after I’ve been taking a break for a month or so before this. There’s just a ton to do and a lot to earn with this new Midsummer questline, that is shaping up like it’s going to be a preview for Inazuma, which is coming in the next few patches, it seems.
