GTA 5 has a robust collection of codes that will do everything from reducing your wanted level to catapulting you high into the air. You can spawn a collection of fun driveables, ranging from motorbikes to sports cars to novelty vehicles such as golf carts, submarines and stretch limos.
The only things you can't really cheat are money (alas - see our guide on making money in GTA 5) and Lamborghinis. You can't use codes in Grand Theft Auto Online or during some missions, and you can't earn achievements with them. But otherwise, all of Los Santos is your open-world crime oyster. We've gathered up every GTA 5 cheat code, console command, and phone number for you, all listed below.

Best GTA 5 cheats
Sure, you can max out health (TURTLE) and ammo (TOOLUP) or reduce your wanted stars (LAWYERUP). But you're not here to live, are you? You're here to feel alive until you die. Here are the five cheats with the most entertainment potential (add 1-999 if you're using the in-game phone to dial the code):
- SKYFALL - Teleports you a mile in the air and drops you. A fun, fast way to get to the other side of town, but ends poorly if you haven't used SKYDIVE to give yourself a parachute.
- HOPTOIT - Gives you superjump, and the longer you hold down the jump key, the higher you go. Great for leaping (into) tall buildings in a single bound if they have balconies, or for jumping over hedges or walls that are unclimbable.
- VINEWOOD - Spawns a stretch limo, which is fun in its own right, but you can use it to block traffic altogether on all but the widest roads and freeways… and you can spawn as many as you like (in different colors each time you use the code). Time for a little urban re-planning!
- CATCHME/GOTGILLS - Faster running and swimming, because sometimes you just don't want to drive. Or get eaten by sharks.
- INCENDIARY - Your bullets set things on fire. Like people.

How to use GTA 5 cheats
How to use GTA 5 cheats
It's super easy to use GTA 5 cheats, especially on PC: You just need to open the in-game command console and drop in a codeword. Cheats will only work in Story Mode; if you're starting a new game, you'll need to play through to the open world (after the initial mission, when you start playing as Franklin) to use them. They are not available during missions.
To bring up GTA 5's console, hit the tilde key (~), or whatever key is directly to the left of the 1 at the top of your keyboard. Type in any of the cheat codes above in all caps just as written and hit enter. Congratulations! You're cheating. Spawn yourself a motorcycle and flaming ammo rounds to celebrate.
You can also dial any cheat's associated phone number with your in-game phone, regardless of what system you're playing on; the number is generally 1-999 plus the cheat code word equivalent on the keypad. To enter cheats on the in-game phone:
- Press the up arrow key (Up on D-pad) to open your phone
- Press spacebar (X or Square) to open the dial pad
- Enter the number then press spacebar (X or Square) again to dial
Can I earn achievements while using GTA 5 cheats?
No. Once you've enabled a GTA 5 cheat, the following conditions will apply:
Achievements will be disabled. You won't be able to earn higher than Bronze rating for missions
