Parvatipuram, one of the oldest towns of Andhra Pradesh, has finally become a district headquarters, following bifurcation of districts which would come into force on the day of Ugadi.

The government considered their requested and named the new district Parvatipuram-Manyam after a prolonged discussion with senior officials.
