It’s a known fact that there is nothing more important in your wardrobe than tracksuit pants during the colder months, except maybe a puffer jacket.
Anyway, one of the best features about trackie-dacks is that no matter what they’re labelled, they’re all pretty unisex if you find yourself the right size. Personally, I prefer the dude’s trackies because I like an oversized fit, so I just steal my boyfriends… sorry not sorry, babe.
But if, unlike me, you need new track pants, we’ve got you covered. Here are our picks of the best tracksuit pants in Australia.
NIKE
A fan favourite pair of tracksuit pants are these fleece ones from Nike. They’re a classic look and come in 11 colours and sizes 4-26. They’re also warm as fuck. This pair are more of a high-waisted style, but still has that slouchy leg we know and love.
PANGAIA
If you love a purchase that’s good for the environment and your wardrobe, these trackies from Pangaia are a worthy investment. Plus, our colleague Rach assures us that they’re perfect for bed rotting and come in pretty sweet colours.
ADIDAS
A few hands went up for these bad boys. True to their brand, the 3-Stripes Track Pants are a staple style from Adidas Originals. They’re a cotton-rich, fleece blend with ribbed stretch, an elastic waist and zippered hip pockets. Perfect Sunday attire if you ask us. This set is from the brand’s collaboration with LA-based lifestyle brand Sporty & Rich.
COTTON ON
Are purse strings a little tight? Why not go for Cotton On’s super affordable classic track pants? These came recommended by at least three of our PTV pals, including Linley who assured us they’re also perfect for taller peeps. “They’re so affordable, come in the cutest colour range and — because I’m tall — they’re actually long enough to scrunch at the ankles. I reckon the ankle scrunch is very important.” We have to agree on the ankle scrunch too.
BONDS
After a bit of digging, we discovered that the Unisex Jogger is made for everyone. They’re made from Aussie cotton, with a cosy fleece lining that keeps you warm. These track pants are a relaxed fit through the leg and have a ribbed cuff at the hem. They can be worn low or high-waisted by drawing in the internal drawcord and have an ankle zip at the bottom, making them perfect for layering.
JUICY COUTURE
It wouldn’t be a tracksuit pant round-up without mentioning the ’90s classic. These standard-fit track pants are made from super soft velour fabric in a few different colourways. They feature elasticated cuffs and a high-rise waistband and are finished with Juicy Couture branding in silver diamantes. PTV’s Lav can confirm that they’re actually “10/10 for comfort”. That’s hot!
KMART
It would be rude of me not to include some more good budget options, like these fleece trackies from KMART. They come in a bunch of different colours, a range of different sizes and will only cost you from $8-16. What a steal!
Lululemon
Of course, Lululemon makes some damn good tracksuit pants for both men and women. These fleece joggers put softness first, so you can veg out in complete comfort.
