A Colts’ favorite in mock drafts among top overall prospects on Daniel Jeremiah’s big board

Saying that Penn State tight end Tyler Warren is a favorite selection for the Indianapolis Colts in mock drafts would be an understatement.

But noteworthy, with the Colts picking at 14th overall in the first round, is where NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah has Warren in his pre-draft prospect rankings.

When it comes to the NFL draft, Jeremiah is one of the best out there and is one of the most plugged-in. Where he has these prospects slotted on his big board or going in his mock drafts should be noted.

With Warren, he came in at No. 5 on Jeremiah’s initial top 50 big board. This high ranking also comes on the heels of Jeremiah having Warren selected in the top 10 in his first 2025 NFL draft.

“Overall, he isn’t as dynamic as Rob Gronkowski was during his career, but Warren is a similar player in a lot of ways,” wrote Jeremiah.

Now, I don’t want to be the ‘he won’t be there’ guy when discussing who the Colts could select at 14th overall. It’s still too early in the pre-draft process to know any of that.

However, considering that Warren is the Colts’ pick in the majority of the mock drafts that are out there, I do think it’s important to be mindful of Warren potentially being viewed as an earlier pick in NFL circles, with Jeremiah’s recent work being examples as to why that might be the case.

Given the Colts massive need for a great pass-catching presence at tight end, it’s easy to see why Warren would make so much sense for them. There is also something to be said for adding his well-rounded skill set to the offense as well, with Warren able to impact both the run and passing games.

But with that said, with a do-it-all tight end prospect like Warren, there’s a lot of teams that could benefit from having him in their offense.
